Time sure does fly. It seems like just yesterday, I was waiting for summer to get here, and now school is arleady back in session and the weather has turned cooler.

I enjoyed watching the Olympics - it was nice to have something interesting to watch on TV. Tonight I am watching "America's Got Talent", and it's live! My favorite so far is "Queen Emily". What a fabulous voice she has. I hope I'm still awake at the end of show so I can vote.

I am so sore because I helped my "lawn guy" trim the bushes around my house. I asked him to bring 2 trimmers and I would help! He did. Boy oh boy, I am so out of shape. I wasn't able to do as much as I thought I could, but at least I helped with trimming and cleanup. I was also having a hard time breathing in all the outside crud. OH, we also pulled out a few small trees and bushes. And, I only got 1 mosquito bite in the process. lol The very next day, I was surprised to see that the town had already come by and taken the HUGE pile of cut down trees, branches, trimmings, etc... There was A LOT!

I've been sick for over 2 weeks. It started out with a sore throat, moving to my ears, and fever all in the 1st day/night. Followed by a really bad cough and severe chest congestion, which I still have. Yesterday began week 3 of this. I tried cough drops, vicks vapor rub, NyQuil for 2 nights, Robitussen for 1 night, and Mucinex for 5 consecutive days - taken as directed, and until the bottle was empty -- yesterday morning being my last dose. I'm getting better s-l-o-w-l-y but also getting very impatient! I am praying that I will be well again very soon! 3 weeks is enough! *prayers welcomed*

I've been watching the Olympics this week and am so proud of USA! I am extremely happy for the American Gymnasts on their individual results, as they earned the Gold & Silver! Also, a big *high five* to the one and only Michael Phelps!

Tonight, I'll be tuning in once again. =)

I've been sick all week, with a viral infection. Started out with a sore throat, chills/fever, followed by a bad cough and much sneezing. Today is day 6 of this, and I'm hoping it'll be gone by Monday. I would love to start the week with feeling back to normal!

Got my hair trimmed last night - more layers put in. In about 2 weeks, it'll be time for more highlights - if I can afford it.

Have a few prospects for future websites! Life is good! =)

Another weekend has passed and I have yet to complete the list of things I needed to achieve. I was hoping that my son would have come over to help me, but he had a previous commitment.

After 20 years of sobriety, my EX-husband is drinking again. He's right back to where he left off 20 years ago - before getting help. He's in major denial and it breaks my heart that he threw away 20 years of sobriety. My (our) son is now 18, and he NEVER had to see his dad drink, because he was a "recovering alcoholic". But recently, our son has had to SEE this crap AND hear the crap from his Dad about how "in control" he is, when in fact, it's just the opposite. I have been so sick over this. I have lost sleep, and am suddenly having nightmares. I still care, and I offered to help (my ex). He's not ready.

The blood clot in my leg is still giving me problems. I go in every 2 weeks for bloodwork, since being put on blood thinners back in May. The past 4 times I've had the bloodwork done, the doctor has INCREASED my blood thinner each time.

What gives?

Okay, I have my work cut out for me this weekend. I must clean out my van, because on Monday I have to haul a large item in it. I also need to clean my house. I'm hoping I will get it all done. Right now my leg is bothering me a bit, so I'm sitting with it propped up on a chair beside me. I'm tired, but am forcing myself to stay awake for some reason...

Today, I told my daughter that I was proud of her for being so responsible, and she replied with, "Mom, I'm a young adult". (she's only 9) ROFL! She's just too cute.

Got a new mailbox (Again!), since my old one was recently run over and left for dead. No, not by me! lol This is the 2nd time this has happend this summer. Only this time, it will be sitting off the street more than before... My brother was supposed to come a month ago to clean out my gutters... He never showed up, so after 2 weeks I called and left a message on his cell phone, reminding him that it still needs to be done. Well 2 more weeks go by and I still didn't hear back from him. (He told me that he would be happy to do it for me, afterall, I am his "sis") I called another brother of mine and asked what was up with the other brother who said he'd come by and do this for me... it was then, I was told that he had moved out of state! (and didn't tell me) *sigh* So, the gutters look as if trees are growing out of them and I'm embarassed because my neighbors must be so embarassed by the way it looks right now, but I'm afraid of heights! I desperately need to find someone to help me out with this. Any takers?

My foot itches. Wonder what that means? ROFL You know how they say if your nose itches - someone is talking about you..... and if your palm itches that means you're going to get money, etc.... Well if my foot itches, then maybe I'm fixin' ta get stomped on! LOL or maybe I'm just over-tired and being goofy right now.

Okay, enough of my rambling about such nonsense. I admit, I need sleep!

Heppy Independence Day! I am sitting here listening to the Men's Barbershop International Quartet Finals AS WE SPEAK! I am listening via webcast. It's narrowed down to the top 10, who will compete for the GOLD. I'm routing for 2 quartets. I don't want to jinx myself (or them) so I won't mention any names yet. Well, okay... "Old School" and "OC Times". I hope they will both be in the top 3 or better yet, the top 2. I'll add the results once the results are in.

UPDATE: OC Times quartet won the gold, and Old School quartet came in 5th place (in the world). Not bad for first time out!

We've had so much rain this past month. I'm ready for some sunshine. Hubby bought a weather scanner and it's been going off just about every day... Severe thunderstorms, flooding, tornado watches, etc. I'm wanting to have a garage-sale, but the weather has not yet been cooperative. We have had a nice day of sunshine here and there, but those days don't seem to land on the weekends. Soon tho, I'm sure.

My son was supposed to come over tonight with a friend and help me with a few projects. The little stinker stood me up. He's at that age where friends come first. No biggie, I'll get the projects done sooner or later!

I posted a new poem on my poetry page, and started making personalized clocks. I also revised my Trading Post. Please check out these pages!

Until next time, "May your days be filled with sunshine!"

I had a great day! I woke up early, drank some coffee, then got ready to go out and spend the day with my daughter. We had a good time. She cracks me up! It was nice to giggle and have a girls-day-out. =)

The last 2 weeks have been extremely busy at work. I'm not complaining! It sure makes the weeks go by fast! And, I usually sleep in on Saturdays, but I was a good girl (lol) and woke up early and got some things done. YAY!

Tomorrow, I will continue to shovel out my daughter's bedroom... HUGE job. Can't be done in one day. But, I'm getting there!

I have a new RX for glasses. My distance went up a notch in my right eye, and my bifocal (did I say that??) went up THREE notches. What's with that? No wonder I can't see! Trying to save money to get new glasses. I have insurance, but it will still cost me about $250. out of pocket... I HAVE TO HAVE a no-line bifocal (not covered), and the non-glare coating (not covered). Plus, the frames that I want, cost OVER $100. Insurance only covers UP TO $100. towards the frames. Hopefully I'll get some clients soon, and can get my much needed glasses!

Get this... I got the bill for my 72-hour ambulatory EEG the other day, and it was $1,800.00 PER DAY!! ...Isn't that a hoot?!

It's time for me to get some "shut eye", as I want to accomplish many more things tomorrow!

Recently had my evaluation at work and it went well. I am eager to work toward my next set of goals! I love to keep busy, and I also love a challenge. I CAN DO IT! =)

I'm sitting here with heartburn. Ate pizza for lunch today at work, then came home and hubby had ordered pizza for dinner. That's perfectly fine with me, as pizza is my most favorite food.

I've been kind of down in the dumps lately. I suppose that with all I have gone through recently and continue to deal with, it's to be expected.

Last week I was sitting here with no one to talk to, so I wrote a poem to get some feelings out.

Yesterday, (Thursday) I went to work and for the first 2 hours I had a mandatory CPR recertification class to attend. After that, I went back to the office to work. I was wearing a pair of Capri’s, and a co-worker noticed that my right leg and ankle were swollen quite a bit. It was very red, very swollen and hot to the touch once again. They called the nurse at work to come take a look and once again I was sent home to go to the doctor. I was scared that my blood clot was getting worse instead of better.

I couldn't get in to see my doctor until 2:30pm, so I had almost 4 hours to lay with my leg completely elevated before the appointment. What a difference a few hours make! By the time I went to my appointment, the swelling had reduced by 50%. Still hot to the touch, but my doctor reassured me that I was out of danger as far as the clot bursting and going to my heart or lungs and killing me. He told me that since I am on blood thinners I ALSO need to sleep with my feet elevated ABOVE THE HEART. Well, for anyone who knows me and how flexible I am, that is easier said than done. I go to bed with my feet elevated way above my heart, and then in my sleep, I toss and turn, etc. I have woke up with my legs crossed Indian-style, my right leg hanging off the bed drooping down, and my husband told me that he's even seen me asleep on my stomach! I'm like how in the world?? So, I think that the only way for me to sleep with my legs elevated AND KEEP THEM THAT WAY, is for hubby to duct tape my feet to the mattress. lol I doubt a bungee cord would work to keep my feet in place - heck, I'd just pull my feet out from underneath in my sleep, I'm sure.

A co-worker of mine is giving me a hospital bed that is being donated to my workplace. (We don't have any use for it at work). So, it will save me from having to keep renting the hospital bed I have been using in past weeks. With the price of gas, we must cut costs somewhere, so I feel blessed that this donation came my way.

I can sure tell a major difference since being off my hormone replacement meds. I can't take them any more due to the blood clot in my leg. My mood has changed and I don't like it. Hopefully this is temporary.

Okay, time to take some Tums®!
I’m sitting here with heartburn. Ate pizza for lunch today at work, then came home and hubby had ordered pizza for dinner. That’s perfectly fine with me, as pizza is my most favorite food.

I’ve been kind of down in the dumps lately. I suppose that with all I have gone through recently and continue to deal with, it’s to be expected.

Well, today I was in pain once again with this blood clot in my leg. The pain is caused from the vein being stretched. I had to take Tylenol several times today. I'm beginning to think that the doctor is right, when saying that the blood clot will be there for about 9 months to a year. Not a very comfortable realization.

I had 3 great days - able to walk on my leg again with hardly any pain, did some housework, laundry, etc. So, leave it to me....On Sunday, I called my doctor AT HOME (ha!) and asked if I could return to work today (Monday). He told me YES, and he had his nurse fax in a 'return to work' slip today. I only missed 2 weeks exactly. Not bad for having a blood clot in my leg, and knowing it will be there for about 9 months, so the doctor says. I will continue to take my blood thinner, sleep with my feet elevated and sit with my leg elevated at work.
